I resolve to help my daughter with her homework and help her understand that even if there is something she doesn't understand in that moment that she will eventually understand it. I also resolve to teach my daughter to be accountable for her actions.
My New Year's Resolution is to do my absolute best and give 100% in everything I do in school and sports. This means that I will do my best to make all 90s in my classes by taking my time and focusing on what I am doing. In sports, I will hustle everywhere I go and never stop giving all I can, even when I get tired.
This school year I will try to be better at staying on task. I will try to finish my homework either in class or at home with my parents. I will work harder to study the information over the homework so I do better on the test.
I resolve to do my homework and not to leave it to the last minute. I also resolve to be more kind to my sisters and brothers. I would like to spend more time with my family instead of reading and watching YouTube all the time.
My New Year's Resolution is to focus more in school and spend my time on things I'm supposed to be doing, instead of playing on my phone or hanging out with friends. In the free time that I may have, I will use it to spend time reading books or diving deeper into a certain subject and not spend it messing around. I will keep my grades up to the best of my ability and try my hardest this year.
My New Year's resolution is to stop making bad choices and start making good choices. Pay attention in class and give respect to all the people around me. I'm going to be nice to my teachers (try as hard as I can to be). I want to get better at understanding everything and get some really good grades. But the most important thing I want is to get all my work done on time and get good grades by listening and studying.
I want my students to understand how important it is to show their parents what they are learning everyday. I want my students to WANT to go home and read for pure pleasure...instead of having the feeling of...I just want to get through this!
My Resolution is to make my daughter's school (Erickson Elementary School in Tucson Arizona) finally understand that involved Single Fathers are one of the greatest untapped resources for helping educate their children.
I resolve to stop to appreciate the people my children are becoming. They are growing up so fast, and while I run from one event in their lives to another, juggling work, friends, my husband and children, worrying about what they will become of them if they don't do x,y or z; they are becoming funny, thoughtful, kind and sometimes grumpy human beings. This year I want to focus on the times we spend together round the table, lying on the grass looking at cloud shapes or wrapped up warm spotting those elusive shooting stars in the sky.
My #SchoolYrResolution for my two school-age daughters is to focus more on discovering their passions for the future. Letting them try various new things to find what they enjoy most and then expanding on that item.
This year I will be supporting my son and future daughter-in-law who are starting as new teachers. I will be assisting them inside the classroom and out by watching and working with their two daughters.
